Audience: Beginner to intermediate
Fee: €20 Standard.
You will be guided through the identification of wildflower species that are grouped within the family of Asteraceae, or the Daisy family. Following an introduction to branch of wildflowers and their main botanical features, there will be an opportunity to view and examine collected specimens from the field, some examples of which might include dandelions and their many various cousins, knapweeds, and thistles (amongst others). Afterwhich, you will then practice identifying Asteraceae species in the field.
Lunch: Please bring a packed lunch; refreshments will be provided
Clothing: Sturdy walking boots. Please dress appropriately for the weather and outdoor terrain.
Health & Safety: Please be mindful that this workshop includes an element of teaching outdoors. Waterproof clothing and good walking footwear are essential. As a rule of thumb, it is generally expected that any participants who sign up for a workshop that involves spending time in the outdoors will own and bring the appropriate outdoor clothing. A risk assessment for this event has been completed and participants are asked to listen carefully to the safety briefings that are delivered on the day.
